Ayurveda Treatment The wisdom of a healthy life
At “Spring of Life” Ayurveda treatment-centre doctors are using an ancient medical system of holistic healing, dating back to thousands of years, to cure critical diseases. Lets look at a few (out of many) of the Ayurvedic therapies available at “Spring of Life”:
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a unique holistic system of healing.
Ayurveda is an intricate system of healing that originated in India thousands of years ago. It is not only a system of medicine, but it is also a way of life. Ayurveda is formed by the combination of two words, 'Ayur' meaning life, and 'veda' meaning knowledge or science. In effect, it means the "Science of Life". It corrects our imbalances caused by everyday life and draws our attention to the sensibilities of our spirit and soul, to healthy eating habits and a healthy frame of mind. At the core lies an intensive programme of detoxification and purification of the body designed to strengthen the healing capacities of the body and the immune system.
AYURVEDA means WISDOM of LIFE.
Ayurveda was founded and developed by the Rishis in India over 6000 years ago. The Rishis were exceptionally wise men with gifts of acute perception and divine insights. Ayurveda developed in ancient times, when man intuitively knew more about a healthy lifestyle in balance with body, mind and spirit.
When we are aware of our thoughts, we can control them. When we know how our body functions, we are very careful to treat it well to enable us to lead a healthy life everyday. We intuitively know which foods are good for us and how to conduct our lives. The modern world is changing our lives rapidly. Our fast-paced, hectic life-styles have desensitised us and have led us to live stressful lives that negatively impact our family lives and can create an atmosphere of fear. The rise of many illnesses is symptomatic of this. We need to re-tune our senses and re-balance our mind, body and spirit to help us restore a harmonious and happy family life. Ayurveda can play a role in bringing us back to our roots and in helping us learn to live with a sense of fulfilment. We would have paved the way for all good things to follow, when we restore the balance.
Ayurveda is more than just a science dealing merely with the administration of medication. It is the real “Way of Life” and contains methods for the promotion, prolongation and maintenance of good health.
How can we balance our life?
The natural elements have to be acknowledged, so that the three “Doshas”, the “Energies of our body”, are balanced. When we find time and space in ourselves for fire, water, earth and air, we are healthy.
The three Doshas help us to realize which situation we are in.
Vata = air and space
Pittha = fire and water
Kapha = water and earth
The balance of Doshas helps to keep our immune system in balance and to ward off many diseases. No matter what types of toxins enter the body, our three Doshas first come forward to protect our body.
In human beings there is a constant process of digestion, absorption, assimilation and removal of waste products, for example in the form of urine, stool and sweat.
If, for any reason, the toxins and waste products are not properly removed, then normal physiological functions are disturbed. First this creates imbalances and then
Damages the organs and tissues.
It is a usual practice of the modern world to go for consultations that only treat the symptoms, but not the roots of the illness.
What is the Ayurvedic approach?
Diagnoses
By drawing particular attention to the pulse and the symptoms, our body indicates the abnormality of the Doshas. After a consultation, the doctor will decide individually which treatments are needed and will achieve the best results.
Treatments
Doctors and the staff at “Spring of Life” provide highly authentic and unique treatments to achieve the ultimate rejuvenation of your body, mind and spirit. These treatments will bring your inner and outer self into harmony, to address your personal constitution and health problems, to attain complete detoxification and to revitalize your immune system.
Why are the massages with special oils so important and valuable?
If the roots of a tree are getting water regularly, this will enable it to stay healthy for a long time. In the same way, the body needs to be oiled with herbal oils for the ayurvedic massages. Deep tissues and the lymphatic drainage systems are thus successfully targeted to remove the lactic acid accumulation in the tissues, to bring about complete relaxation and well-being. Proper circulation of vital life fluids and the regular discharge of waste materials is the secret of youthful beauty.

Doctor's message
Every individual requires detoxification from time to time. If the body is detoxified properly, then the rejuvenation procedure is boosted and the body gains strength, which in turn strengthens the immune system. Therefore Ayurveda therapy is important for every individual.
Ayurvedic treatment is designed to channel the toxins in specific parts of the body and then expel these substances from the body. Once the body is purified (shodana), it is ready to receive and benefit from the rejuvenation process (Tharpana), which can lead to lasting good health. For some individuals Panchakarma therapy (shodana) is essential.
The set of treatments is put together individually for each person with his/her specific constitution in mind and caters to his/her specific disorder. It requires close observation and supervision. Everyone will receive freshly- prepared decoctions, herbal pills etc. to keep the three doshas in a balanced state (shamana). During any step of the treatment, it is recommended to adhere to a prescribed specific life-style and diet guidelines.
Panchakarma (five methods of purification)

2) Vireka Karma (Purgation therapy)

3) Vasti Karma (Enema therapy)

Its important to understand that diagnosis in Ayurveda depends mainly on clinical diagnosis of abnormality at the cellular level. Its extent is judged by the gross manifestations and not on investigative techniques.
Clinical diagnosis also includes the knowledge of the stage of the disease which can be inferred from the different symptoms occurring at the different stages.
The importance of diagnosis of the vitiation of doshas needs to be emphasized. This is the crux of the ayurvedic doctor’s diagnosis and forms the basis for the choice of the appropriate therapy.
On one hand, humanity is enjoying the fruits of modernization; on the other, it is paying a price for the same also. Foods containing preservatives and toxic colourings and other substances, hybrid foods, changed food habits, stress and pollution all contribute to accumulation of waste products in the body. This leads to early ageing, debility and loss of immunity, which in turn leads to an increase in the number of diseases.
The ayurvedic approach differs when treating ailments. The internal medicine that we use to optimise the healing process is pure.
Remedies from fresh herbs have no harmful effects and keep the three doshas in a balanced state.
Food, medication and behavioural factors are again applied to balance three doshas.
Because of these rare advantages foreign visitors are advised to have ayurvedic treatment packages annually. Panchakarma treatment is envisaged for foreign visitors who enrol for 2-week and 3-week packages. This includes meals prepared based on the ayurvedic concept, a suitably serene, attractive and naturally ventilated environment. All of this helps to balance body, mind and spirit.
As it helps to remove the aggravated dormant causes of illness, ayurvedic treatment is essential in these days of modern life. It also stimulates and restores the normal physiological process of tissues, organs and channel functions.
